The Gorno Ezerovo monastery “St. Virgin Mary” is situated 10 km afar from
the town of Bourgas, in the lowland between the residential districts
“Meden Rudnik” and “Gorno Ezerovo”. It can be reached by a narrow road
that weaves like a snake through the waste bare field. Believers relate
lots of legends about the monastery. They are connected with the curative
power of the water and the unexplainable forces of the place that was
discovered by the ancient Thracians. The energy emission of the vegetable
species is not less powerful. The plants surround the small chapels with
their phytoncide effect, which is a guarantee for the absolute clearing
of the constitution. There are two churches in the monastery “St. Virgin
Mary” at the moment. One of the churches, called “inner” is situated in
the building of the monastery and the new one is unique with its form
of rotunda. Nonparallel are the chapels, which run to forty. Each chapel
is named after its Saint.
